Accumulator: Combining more than one bet. Accumulators only pay out if all selections win

After Extra Time (AET): The additional time played in a soccer game if the match ends as a tie in regulation.

Alternate Lines: Derivatives of standard betting lines.

Asian Handicap: Goal/point advantage on the underdog and goal/point disadvantage on the favorite. Eliminates the possibility of a draw. Asian handicap (it owes its name to its Eastern origins) is a term, used in gambling to name a type of bet in football that has acquired popularity through time.

Bad Beat: A bet that loses unexpectedly.

Banker: Strong favorite to win.

Bet: Risking money on the outcome of an event.

Board: Shows every game to bet on. Also known as a betting schedule.

Bonus: An incentive to entice new or existing account holders to start betting.

Buck: Jargon for $100 (as in a “buck” bet).

Chalk: The competitor favored to win.

Chalk Player: A better that usually only wagers on the favorites and rarely gambles on the underdogs. These people are also known as “chalkeaters.”

Closing Line: The final line offered before the market closes.

Dead Heat: When two or more competitors cross the line at the same time.

Decimal Odds: Odds expressed in a decimal format. Also known as European Odds.

Dime: $1,000.

Dog: Short for the underdog.

Dog Player: A bettor who mostly places bets on the underdog.

Dollar: $100.

Double Chance: Double chance allows the player to stake on both a winning outcome and a draw for their chosen team/player, giving them the opportunity to win their bet as long as their selection doesn't lose the match.

Draw: The final result ends with no winner or loser.

Draw No Bet: "Draw No Bet" allows the player to stake on either the home or away for a winning result. Should the event end in a draw your stake will be returned, should your selection lose the match your stake is a losing one as well.

Drift: Implies the event is less likely to win, causing the odds the lengthen.

Each-Way: A bet containing two separate bets, one on the winner and one for the selection placing e.g. 2nd, 3rd or 4th. Most popular in horse racing.

Even Money: Placing a bet where you either win or lose the same amount of money. You will either see even money odds listed as +100, Evens or 1/1.

Favorite: The team expected to win an event. The odds given to you reflect how big of an advantage one competitor has over the other. The longer the odds, the more they are expected to win.

Field: Betting all the other bets or players listed in the original prop bet. 

Fifty Cents: $50.

Final Four: The remaining four teams in a sport tournament.

First Half Bet: A bet placed only on the first half of the game.

Fractional Odds: Odds expressed as a fraction.

Grand Salami: The grand total of goals scored in all the day’s hockey games. It can be wagered Over or Under the line.

Half A Dollar: $50

Half Time Bet: Placing a bet on events occurring in the second half only. Bookmakers will adjust their odds based on the previous half’s events.

High Roller: A high-stakes sports bettor.

Jolly: Slang for favorite.

Limit: The maximum amount a bookmaker will allow you to bet before they change the odds and/or the points.

Line: Another word for odds.

Long Odds: Large betting odds that occur if there is a large gap between two teams’ power ratings.

Longshot: Similar to an underdog, they are a competitor that is unlikely to win.

Mobile Betting: Placing a wager through the mobile.

Moneyline: Betting on a team to win straight up.

Mush: A sports better who is bad luck.

Multi bets: A bet in which you bet on more than one outcome, either against the spread or on the moneyline

MVP: Stands for Most Valuable Player.

Nickel: $500.

Non-Runner: The selection is not participating in an event.

Odds: Represents the perceived frequency of an event derived from the underlying probability, thus enabling betting.

Odds On: The odds imply they have more than a 50% chance of winning.

Outright: Outright betting allows you to place on the outcome of a league or competition instead of a single event. These bet types are usually available before the start of a season and may be available during. Depending on the Outright bet offer, besides betting on a competition winner you may bet on a team's finishing position within the competition. 

Over: Betting the total will be more than the bookmakers’ line.

Over/Under Betting: Betting if there will be more or less total points/goals scored than the line set by the bookmaker.

Payout: The return on a winning bet.

Pick’em: A game where there is no favorite or underdog.

Points Spread: The number of points by which the supposed better team is favored over the underdog. Referred to as spread betting.

Press: To place a larger bet than you would on a normal wager.

Price: Another time for odds.

Puppy: Another phrase for the underdog.

Push: When a result lands on the line and all wagers are refunded. There is no winner or loser. For example, a 3-point favorite wins by exactly three points.

Quarter Bet: Betting on the outcome for a specific quarter of a game only.

Rag: Slang for longshot.

Return On Investment (ROI): The amount that a bettor should expect to get back from a winning wager.

Run Down: All the lines for a specific date, sport, time, etc.

Runner: One who places bets for another.

Short Odds: Small betting odds which occur if there is a small gap between two teams’ power rankings.

Straight Bet: A wager on just one winner.

Sweat: When you have action and root for your bet to win.

Ticket: A sports bet.

Tie: A bet in which no money is won or lost because the teams’ scores were equal to the number of points in the given line. This is the same as a push.

Under: A wager that the total points/goals scored by two teams will be under the sportsbooks’ line.

Underdog: Competitors that are expected to lose.

Upset: When the underdog wins the game straight up.

Wager: A bet.

Over/Under Bet types

Under 2

All bets placed on "Under 2" will acquire a winning status if there are 1 or 0 goals, scored in the game. If the match ends with exactly 2 goals, all stakes put, are to be refunded. If the match ends with 3 or more goals, all bets will acquire a losing status.

Over 2

All bets placed on "Over 2" will acquire a winning status if there are 3 or more goals scored in the game. If the match ends with exactly 2 goals all stakes put, are to be refunded. If the match ends with 1 or 0 goals all bets will acquire a losing status.

Under 2.25

All bets placed on "Under 2.25" will acquire a winning status if there are 1 or 0 goals scored in the game. If the match ends with exactly 2 goals, half of the stake will win, the other half will be returned. If the game ends with 3 or more goals, all bets will acquire a losing status.

Over 2.25

All bets placed on "Over 2,25" will acquire a winning status if there are 3 or more goals scored in the game. If the match ends with exactly 2 goals, half the stake will be returned and the other half will be lost. If the game ends with 1 or 0 goals, all bets will acquire a losing status.

Under 2.5

All bets placed on "Under 2,5" will acquire a winning status if there are 0, 1 or 2 goals scored in the game. If the game ends with 3 or more goals, all bets will acquire a losing status.

Over 2.5

All bets placed on "Over 2,5" will acquire a winning status if there are 3 or more goals scored in the game. If the game ends with 0, 1 or 2 goals, all bets will acquire a losing status.

Under 2.75

All bets placed on "Under 2,75" will acquire a winning status if there are 0, 1 or 2 goals scored in the game. If the game ends with exactly 3 goals, half the stake will be returned and half will be lost. If the game ends with 4 or more goals, all bets will acquire a losing status.

Over 2.75

All bets placed on "Over 2,75" will acquire a winning status if there are 4 or more goals scored in the game. If the game ends with exactly 3 goals, half the stake will win and half will be returned. If the game ends with 0, 1 or 2 goals, all bets will acquire a losing status.

Note, that in Live betting all goals are added towards the result no matter if they are scored before or after the bet has been placed.

Multi bets types

Double

This type of wager can also be referred to as a "Two Play Parlay". It consists of two selections in different events, but it is actually one bet. For your selection to be considered a winner, both selections must be successful. Returns from the first bet are re-invested on the second bet.

Treble

This type of wager can also be referred to as a "Three Play Parlay". It calls for one bet that consists of three selections in different events. For a considered successful win, all selections must win. Returns from the first bet are re-invested on the second bet and then in accordance to the third.

Four-Fold

This type of wager can also be referred to as a "Four Play Parlay". It calls for one bet that consists of four selections in different events. For a considered successful win, all selections must win. Returns from the first bet are re-invested on the second bet and then in accordance onto the third and then the fourth.

There are also Five-Fold, Six-FoldSeven-Fold etc.
